Mr Tom

Tom is in his final year studying jazz at the Jazz Music Institute after he spent more than ten years teaching himself guitar, bass, and singing. He has written, recorded, produced and self-released several of his own albums and played in an array of bands around Brisbane since 2015. His love of music crosses multiple genres, including jazz, rock ’n roll, folk, hip hop, and many more. He has a great love for sharing what he has learned about music, songwriting, and recording, and is particularly passionate about the study of the guitar. Tom has several years of experience teaching and is comfortable teaching beginners all the way to advanced musicians. In particular he has a passion for understanding music theory and using this to help his students take their next steps as musicians. But most importantly, Tom is passionate about helping his students to learn, be creative, and have fun.
